Access To
- The rear of the room is accessed on level 1 of the Computer Science building, left as you enter via the accessible entrance.
The front of the room is accessed on level B of the Computer Science building, right as you exit the elevator. - View information on Computer Science (opens new tab) .
- The most accessible route has step-free level access.
- There is step-free level access to enter.
- There is tactile, pictorial and written text signage on or near the door.
- The door to enter opens outwards and has a high color contrast with the surrounding walls.
- The door requires effort to open.
- The width of the door opening is 5ft 7in (170cm).
- The entrance on level B opens outwards, may require effort to open and has a width of 29in (76cm).
Room
- There is step-free level access in this area.
- There is room for a wheelchair user to turn (5ft x 5ft - 152.5cm x 152.5cm).
- There are designated spaces for wheelchair users.
- The designated spaces for wheelchair users are located at the front and rear of the room.
- There is step-free level access to the designated seating.
- A companion can sit beside the designated space at the front of the room.
- There are chairs with and without armrests, fixed chairs without armrests and fixed desks in this area.
- There is tiered seating with a handrail on the left going up the steps.
- There is a clearly signed fixed assistive listening system.
- The assistive listening system was tested, however it was not working at the time of the survey.
- There is stepped access to the speaker's area.
