About How do I use AccessAble?

AccessAble’s Detailed Access Guides tell you all about a venue's access. They are 100% facts, figures and photographs. We’ve put together a list of top tips to find accessibility information using AccessAble. We hope you find it useful!

1. Start from the main search on our homepage

First of all head over to AccessAbleUSA.com.

2. How to search

Searching for a venue:

On the homepage, enter a venue's name or a type of venue in the first search box. You can then enter a location in the second search box (you do not have to do this).

Then click the 'search' button. 

Our founding partner is Princeton University. The University is working with AccessAble to provide detailed information about spaces on campus that can empower students, faculty, staff, and visitors to navigate campus spaces based on their own needs. 

More places will follow.

3. Filter your results

AccessAble uses 38 Accessibility Symbols and you can use these to narrow your search by filtering your results to match your accessibility requirements. If you create an account, you can save these for future searches. However, whether you create an account is totally up to you.

Please remember the filter will only show Detailed Access Guides that match all the symbols you have selected. 

(Note: Applying too many symbols at once may narrow your search too much and you may find you have no results).

4. Have a look through the Detailed Access Guides

Scroll through the Detailed Access Guides in your results to find the one you want to explore. Then click on the ‘View Guide’ button to view all the detail.

5. Have a look through the Detailed Access Guide to find the information that’s relevant to you.

Our Detailed Access Guides contain lots of information as we know that everyone's accessibility requirements are unique to them. This includes measurements, facts, and photographs. Detailed Access Guides aim to take you on a journey from arriving at a venue, to getting in and getting around.

The information is broken down into different sections, which relate to the different areas of a venue.

To access the detailed information use the section menu on the left-hand side of each Detailed Access Guide. Simply click the section to access all the information. Popular sections include parking, entrances, and restrooms.
